Hertz Car Rental
Hertz Car Hire is the most recognised car hire provider in the world. They are the second largest provider of hire cars across the globe and this makes it very impressive when you look at their humble beginnings in Chicago in 1923 when the company had a total of 12 Ford Model T cars in its fleet. It was bought by John Hertz and he renamed the company the ´Hertz-Drive-Ur-Self System´. In 1954, John Hertz changed the name again to the Hertz Corporation and it floated on the New York Stock Exchange. With many other management and operations changes under its belt, Hertz Car Rental is now a subsidiary of Hertz Global Holdings Incorporated.
Hertz Car Hire is a true car hire giant, operating in more than 140 countries around the world, it has more than 7,700 car hire pick up locations, and more than 70 of these are European Car Hire locations, much of this as a result of their exclusive partnership with the European low cost air carrier Ryanair. There are also many Hertz locations in South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. With a focus on business car hire customers and tourist or holiday car hire, Hertz has worked hard to make sure it has programmes and incentives in place to attract and keeps its customers. They have programmes such as the Hertz Club Gold and their customised ‘Never Lost’ GPS system.
As you can imagine with 7,700 locations around the world, Hertz Car Rental has a lot of cars in its fleet. They have cars in all car hire class from mini class, to mid-sized cars and right up to the luxury models and large SUVs and Mazda, Volvo, Mercury, Lincoln, Mercedes, Cadillac as well as Toyota, Nissan, Kia and many more. For luxury models, Hertz operates the Hertz Prestige fleet which includes cars like the new Jaguar F-Type. Hertz keeps its car hire fleet up to date and is constantly renewing it to ensure it has safe, reliable cars on offer for all their customers.
