Goldcar Car Rental

Goldcar is a Spainsh car rental company that was founded in 1985 in San Juan de Alicante by the Alcaraz brothers. Juan and Pedro Alcaraz started their business with only 5 cars for rent but after a few years they were growing and decided to rename their business to Europa Rent a Car. Under the name Europa, they grew and expanded their car rental business further. Each year Europa expanded their list of car rental locations and simultaneously renewed and grew their fleet list. In 2006, Europa Rent a Car became Goldcar, the car rental brand we know so well today.

With a concentration on the tourist car rental market, it is no surprise that Goldcar has focussed a lot of its growth and efforts on costal Spain and the islands; Malaga, Alicante, Canary Islands of Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and the Balearic Islands of Majorca, Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera.

Goldcar has grown and expanded beyond the Spanish coastline but has stayed true to its core audience of holiday makers in Europe. Goldcar now has car rental offices in Madeira, Lisbon and Faro in Portugal and in Bologna, Bergamo and Malpensa in Italy.

Goldcar has now celebrated being in business for over 25 years and is going from strength to strength. It now has its own fleet of more than 30,000 cars and it keeps its fleet up to date by renewing over 70% of the fleet on an annual basis. Attending to about 1.5 million customers per year is testament to the Goldcar success.
